We are proud to have four veterinary technnicians on our staff. They all hold degrees from accredited schools and hold licences to be able to practice in Indiana. They are required to attend continuing education meetings and seminars to keep their licences in order and to learn about new medical practices that benefit your pets.
Clockwise from top left: Hannah Chalmers, Michelle Goff, Jordan Ulrey, and Dianna Verhey.
Michelle has been at Sugar Creek since it opened in 1996. She graduated from Purdue's Vet Tech program, received her license in 1993, and has been working in the veterinary field since before time began (1975). Her favorite things are old dogs and helping people understand their pets' care. Currently, as the "senior" technician, she is taking over more of the management side of the practice, and can often be found in an office in the back. Michelle and her husband Alan have 2 grown sons, 2 grandsons, and 2 dogs. Sunny, pictured here, is a Spaniel mix. They also have a Doberman named 2E. On her days out of the office, she loves to read, enjoys cross-stitch and crochet projects, and sitting in the quiet of her home.
Dianna started her technician career at Sugar Creek early in 1997. She graduated from Purdue's technician program and received her license in 1996. Her favorite thing to do in the clinic is treating hospitalized patients and getting to send them home feeling better. She is our organizing technician and keeps everybody else on track. Dianna and her husband Brian have 1 grown son, 1 terrier mix named Kringle (who is very photogenic), 4 cats (one is diabetic), and a Quarter horse. In her time off, she enjoys working on their farmhouse, being outside, and redecorating projects. Dianna gets all the credit for how pretty our exam rooms are and picking out the murals in the reception area!
Jordan joined us in 2016 after relocating from southern Indiana. She graduated from the International Business College in 2010 and received her Registered Veterinary Technician license then. She likes to work on the dental patients that come in to the hospital as well as educating clients on patient care. Jordan is married to Nate and they have a preschool daughter and a new baby boy. She is currently enjoying "mommy time" with her new one and fills in on the weekends and vacations as needed. Jordan has an American Eskimo named JJ, a Lab mix called Cash, 2 cats, and this summer added a small flock of backyard chickens. In her spare time...who are we kidding? With a baby there isn't spare time! In the summer time she likes spending time on the water with her husband and family. She does LOVE those Cubs!!
Hannah worked for us a kennel assistant while in high school. After graduation, she attended Purdue where she received her technician degree and license in 2018. Hannah likes dentistry and taking care of the surgery patients. She also helps Michelle keep tabs on inventory needs. Hannah enjoys playing tennis, spending time with her family, and vacationing in Michigan. She says it is THE place to be. She would be happiest if the temperature never got above 65 degrees. Hannah is pictured with Roo, her German Shepherd.
